...Fisz :)
1. Who?
You either hate or love his music.
Aged 31. Fisz (also known as Bartek Waglewski) is one of the few Polish artists that I truly admire. Being a son of a well-known Polish musician Wojciech Waglewski, he has been acquainted with the love for music since early childhood. He started his career in 2000. Many people say that his first album has indivertibly changed Polish music. I absolutely agree! ;) If you would like to see more of his photos and enjoy one of his songs, please have a look at this video :)
2. What?
Fisz's first album was a pure hip-hop CD. However, the more music he made the less of a hip-hop type it was. If one would attempt to put his music into a particular category, it would be impossible. His albums are experimental, he loves to explore sounds and melodies. Fisz and his producer Emade (Emade is his brother) seek inspiration in black music giving soul, funk and jazz touch to their projects. His lyrics are often based on wordplay. Fisz's lyrics are simple, honest and have a clear message. He touches upon ordinary, material things as well as more serious social issues. Each CD is totally different from the others. Yet, I adore all of them. ;)
3. Why?
He's a magnificent artist. I have no idea how to explain it in a more detailed way. There's something about his music that makes you wanna listen to it, that makes you relaxed and calm. So far, I haven't been disappointed with any of his albums - to me that's enough. ;) Besides, I really approve of the fact that he does what he feels like doing. He doesn't try to fit into any current needs at the Polish music market.
4. Any samples? ;)
This song is from quite a recent album that he recored together with his father and his brother. A pure family business ;P
And his brand new clip, from his most recent album...
5. More?
If you are at least a bit curious and wanna read something more about Fisz, check out his official web page
or his MySpace account.
You can also go and see him on 30th March, for he's going to perform on Juwenalia in Poznań. ;)
Take care,
Dżastina :)

How little I know about you girl :D I'd never say that you listen to Fisz :D anyway, as I'm not a big fan of Polish hip-hop I cannot share your enthusiasm 'bout this one, but I love the way you presented him and it definitely made me listen to some of his songs :D ;*
I'm very glad that my presentation has made you a bit curious about Fisz and his music ;)
