A Christmas Story :)

A Christmas Story

'Twas the night before Christmas--Old Santa was pissed.
He cussed out the elves and threw down his list.
Miserable little brats, ungrateful little jerks.
I have a good mind to scrap the whole works!

I've busted my ass for damn near a year,
Instead of "Thanks Santa"--what do I hear?
The old lady bitches cause I work late at night.
The elves want more money--The reindeer all fight.

Rudolph got drunk and goosed all the maids.
Donner is pregnant and Vixen has AIDS.

And just when I thought that things would get better
Those assholes from the IRS sent me a letter,
They say I owe taxes--if that ain't damn funny
Who the hell ever sent Santa Claus any money?

And the kids these days--they all are the pits
They want the impossible--Those mean little shits

I spent a whole year making wagons and sleds
Assembling dolls...Their arms, legs and heads
I made a ton of yo yo's--No request for them,
They want computers and robots...they think - I'm IBM!

Flying through the air...dodging the trees
Falling down chimneys and skinning my knees
I'm quitting this job there's just no enjoyment
I'll sit on my fat ass and draw unemployment.

There's no Christmas this year now you know the reason,
I found me a blonde. I'm going SOUTH for the season!

My music :)

We are supposed to write something about our fav music, artists... I have to say I was a bit puzzled and I had to think a while what to choose. It's too broad a topic to present briefly. I'm open to almost all types of music, except for, so called 'umc, umc' which is techno, etc. :D

So, after hours of deep thinking, I decided to choose an area that doesn't concern just music. I'm a big fan of Quentin Tarantino's movies- yes, I know, many people would say now: 'But he's a psycho!' :P Well, to my reckoning, his movies are masterpieces. It's important to say that they wouldn't be soooo superb without MAGNIFICENT soundtracks! :) I have no idea how Tarantino manages to choose songs that perfectly fit his movies. I can listen to them all day round and I'm not bored with them at all :)

I strongly recommend you both the movies, as well as the soundtracks. My fav ones are: 'Kill Bill' (both volumes), 'Jackie Brown', 'Death Proof', 'Resevoir Dogs' and, of course, 'Pulp Fiction'. :)

I managed to find some nice compilations from some movies mentioned above. Enjoy :) (It was hard to choose the best one :P)

My hometown :)

My dearest hometown- Gniezno... An average town in Greater Poland. It is situated 50km from Poznań and has got circa 70 000 inhabitants. You should know that Gniezno: was the first capital of Poland, boasts of a famous Cathedral and many old churches and bla, bla, bla...

Our famous Cathedral and Old Market.

This is exactly where I live - Winiary housing estate. :)))

So, after this middle-of-the-road introduction, I'd like to present Gniezno to all of you the way I see it, from the point of view of a student. :)

It is worth saying that not that long time ago, there weren't many schools where young people could educate on a higher level. Unlike now. There are two public colleges and quite a few private ones.

Kolegium Europejskie- it's a subsidiary of Adam Mickiewicz University.
Did you know that our Teacher Training College students had classes there, as well? ;)

Threfore, Gniezno has become more of a 'student town' recently. In my opinion, the best place to go and spend time with friends is 'Młyn'- a music club situated in the center of Gniezno.

Another important issue for students? Especially for females? Yes, you guessed- shopping ;)
I think that this memorable event happened more or less three years ago... 'Galeria Gniezno' was built (near my house, actually). :) Dozens of shops, boutiques, a cinema... Yes, it's certainly one of most popular places to hang around during the weekends.

My feelings about Gniezno? Well, I simply adore it. Its specific atmosphere, smiling faces, friends, places that remind of my childhood... Gniezno is a really pleasant place to live. You can't be bored with it too easily. It's a living town. Yet, not too hectic. You won't feel 'overwhelmed' with it . Despite the fact that it's not too big, it's not like that 'everybody knows everybody'. ;) People feel here 'like home' and, at the same time, can remain anonymous.

Is Gniezno worth visiting? If you want to know the answer, come and check. ;) I mean, there's nothing spectacular, shocking... Certainly, it's a really welcoming town where it's pleasant to spend some time in.

Believe it or not, many trips come to Gniezno each year. Well, it's true that these are either children from primary school or elderly Germans. :D But still- tourist industry is thriving! :D

Last but not least... We're going to have a McDonald's in one month. :) Finally, you won't hear these young tourists sighing with disappointment: 'Oh no... NO MCDONALD'S here??? Omg... ' ;)

So, I hope to see you in Gniezno someday ;)

Dżastina :)
